Do It Yourself - In expensive Fabric Softener

This simple solution to fabric softener is a great way to stretch the money. I found this while searching the Duggars family website.
What I did:
1 Bottle of Name brand fabric softener (Even better if bought on sale with a coupon)
4 inexpensive sponges cut in half
plastic container
I used a Gladware© container that someone brought me cookies in. Pour 1 part Fabric softener 2 parts water. Add about 4 sponges, let sit for a couple of hours.
When ready to use ring out 1 sponge and add with clean wet laundry to dryer. We have a lot of static here because of the dry climate so when it is bad I throw in an extra one near the end of the cycle or on the fluff part.
Chicken Stroganoff Recipe
I made a chicken stroganoff that I thought was great and wanted to share with you the recipe.
Chicken Stroganoff
1 can chicken (10 oz)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
8 oz sour cream
1 piece of bacon
Worcestershire sauce
Garlic salt
Lowrys salt
4 crumbled Ritz or club crackers
Put bacon in microwave to cook for about 2 min. Heat oven to 375. Mix soup, chicken, sour cream, and (Worcestershire garlic and lawrys to taste) and crumbled bacon in a 8x8 baking dish. Top with 4 crumbled Ritz or club crackers. Bake in oven about 25-30 minutes.
After I put the stroganoff in the oven I start the rice. I add 1 bullion cube and a little butter and salt to the rice before I turn on the burner.
Serve the Chicken Stroganoff over the seasoned rice with green beans on the side.
I hope you enjoy this recipe, it can easily be doubled to feed more than 4 people or have yummy leftovers.

Amazon= Cheap Diapers!

If you got in on the Living Social $20 gift card for $10 and need diapers this would be a great way to spend that free $10 wisely.
Amazon has coupons on their site for $1.50 off Pampers
I bought a box of 204 size 3 diapers for $17.12
Here is how:
The box of diapers usually costs $40.88 - 15% for being an amazon mom - 15% for subscribing (which you can unsubscribe later) brings the price to $28.62 - $1.50= $27.12 - $10 free from the living social deal brought the total to $17.12 which is .08 a diaper for Brand name good diapers.
These same diapers would be .19 each at Sams Club, and .22 each at target.com. Can you say WOW!
To make this deal even better if you could wait for Swagbucks gift card to amazon you would not have to pay any money out of pocket.
The Living Social site says "When a friend uses your link, they’ll get 5 Deal Bucks to help them buy their first deal. Once they do, you’ll get 5 as well!"

6 easy steps to Rounding Up Checkbook

- Balance Checkbook (if you are like me this takes some time because it had not been done in a while)
- Starting with new transactions Round up to the nearest dollar (Example: $1.04= $2)
- Keep rounding up every time you enter your transactions in your checkbook
- Count on your checkbook balance not the bank balance!
- Wait a few months
- Subtract the bank balance from the checkbook balance to figure out how much you have saved! ( Example: Bank says $1,223.82 Checkbook says $1,200.00 what you saved by rounding up is $23.82)
Don't forget to make sure you account for items not yet on your online or paper statement. (Example you have a check out to Aunt Susie and she hasn't cashed it yet.... one day she will make sure the money is in there.)

Making your own Iced Coffee

Today I wanted an Iced Coffee from Starbucks but I did not have a gift card to use so instead I stayed home and made one. I will be perfecting the recipe and share it when it is awesome.
Today I made strong coffee, put some sugar in it and some chocolate syrup. I then put the hot sweetened coffee in the fridge. When it had chilled enough ( I got impatient it probably would have been better longer) I pulled out the sweetened chilled coffee, whole milk, and strawberry syrup and Ice. I mixed them all together and the best way to describe it is a chocolate strawberry milk with coffee.
I prefer a not very strong coffee flavor so this was great for me. And the bonus was Starbucks doesn't have strawberry but I do!
Have a great day and enjoy your coffee while you wait for your gift cards to come in!
